Facts, limitations & testing
- A one-time purchase for each platform, with no subscription. The iPhone app includes the Apple Watch app. [1]
- US App Store prices: $9.99 for iPhone, $19.99 for iPad, $49.99 for Mac. [2, 3, 4]
- Syncing between your devices through Things Cloud is free; you need an email address, not an Apple Account. [5]
- A 15-day free trial is available on the Mac only. [6]
Limitations that matter
- Checked No collaboration: Cultured Code says Things does not support real-time sharing of to-dos or lists. [5]
- Checked Apple devices only. It does not work on Windows, Android, Linux or in a web browser. [1]
- Checked No trial on iPhone or iPad, and each platform is bought separately: iPhone, iPad and Mac together cost $79.97 in the US. [2, 3, 4, 6]
Price in the original notes. $9.99 once for iPhone [1, 2, 3, 4]
Our view
Things makes a narrower promise than its rivals: a personal planner for Apple devices, bought once. There is no sharing, no web version and no Android app, and its makers say so plainly. If that matches how you live, those gaps are a deliberate trade for focus rather than an oversight. If anyone else needs to see your list, skip it.
