Facts, limitations & testing
AnyList isn't a general to-do app, so it isn't in our selection. But if most of your shared list is food, it is built for exactly that: a shared shopping list that sorts into categories you can rearrange to match your store, plus a recipe box.
The app is free to download. AnyList Complete — $9.99 a year for one person or $14.99 a year for a household — adds the meal-planning calendar, recipe import from websites, and access on Mac, PC and Apple Watch. Its App Store listing covers iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Vision Pro.
If the same shared list also has to hold non-food errands, a general app from our selection is the simpler choice.
